Christmas and the New Year are almost upon us. What does that mean? For those that work in Retail, it means it’s time to run and cry. For those of us that don’t have to work over Christmas, it means something else – PRESENTS. Well, presents and an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia as another year passes us by. It’s nice to chat about the past year and what it’s brought us, right?
Well Facebook seems to think so too.
Last year Facebook launched “Year in Review”, a feature that allows you to look at the top 20 posts from your Facebook in the past year. Facebook claims that it uses specific algorithms to decide the top 20 posts but it does seem to be the ones with the most Likes and Comments. Not too technical but it’s always nice to be able to look back.
To access your “Year in Review” just go to your profile page. You’ll see a “Year in Review” box on the left hand side just below the picture banner. Click that and you’re away! Alternatively you can click here to access it. Once you’ve got your results, look on the left hand side of the page and you’ll see a small collection of your closest friends best posts too.
Is there a point to this? No, not really. Saying that though, it does let us look back at the past year without having to scroll past those silly “Share if you love your mum” pictures and focus more on those important moments in the year. Well done Facebook, Gold star for you!
