Lewis Speaks to Kaos

I had the opportunity to catch up with Frankie Lawson, better known as Kaos. A member of DSM along with Snidee, Acer and Jerome Price from the East Midlands – creators of such tracks as “Skets” and “Till We’re Flyin”.

Hey there, tell us a bit about yourself!
Kaos, 21-year-old UK HIP HOP artist from the East Midlands.

Did you think “Skets” would become as famous on the internet as it did?
We didn’t think it would become as big as it did and it now has 10 million combined views on Youtube!

How do you get yourself known?
I’ve been recording and promoting myself for 5 years so I built a fan base around Nottingham and Leicester and progressed over the years working with different artists from different areas to build a bigger fan base around the UK.

What projects are you working on at the moment?
I have 2 music videos ready to film before the end of the year, 1 solo single release and a track with Acer which will be available for sale on iTunes!

Whats your most successful song, in your opinion?
Apart from “Skets”, my most succesful song is “Till We’re Flyin” as its had coverage on TV and radio being played by people such as Trevor Nelson, Mista Jam and more.

Are you signed? If so, how hard was it?
Signed to a publishing company but not a record label, I’ve had a deal in the past but its hard to trust a lot of people in the industry to stick to their word so I try to manage myself as best I can for the time being but I am still looking for a major deal!

Have any of your songs been played on the radio/been on TV?
Latest single ‘Till We’re Flyin” was released with airplay on channel AKA and playlisted on Radio 1Xtra.

If you want to get in contact with Kaos or check out any of the stuff he’s made, here are various links to his social networking sites;
Make sure you keep an eye out for Kaos and his new stuff, he’s definitely one to watch!
