Gettin’ sticky with Goo.ey – iPad mini skin review

0

When it comes to covering your phone or tablet, there are 2 ways to go about it. The first is to buy a case – something that’ll fully protect your device when you inevitably drop it. The other is to invest in a skin. Why skins? They add barely any bulk to your device and will stop it from scratching – but if you drop it, you’re screwed.

Goo.ey is a  skin like none I’ve ever seen before. I’ve seen the technology implemented before but never in a  skin – it’s usually a small pad that you attach directly to a surface and then attach your device to that. The Goo.ey skin will free up your hands and attach your device to any flat, glossy surface.

Goo.ey Skin

What does that mean? If you’re using your phone in your car and need to place it on the dashboard, it’ll stay there. No more sliding out of the window when taking a turn! It works well on a lot of surfaces – I’ve even found that it grips quite well on non glossy surfaces. You may think that having a skin that attaches to so many surfaces would make it uncomfortable to hold and put in your pocket right? Wrong. The Goo.ey skin is completely smooth to the touch with no sticky residue!

I’ve found that I can attach my iPad to completely flat, vertical surfaces (such as my fridge) and my it’ll happily sit there for you to play with. That’s a massive plus for people who use iPad’s for help in the kitchen – recipes, how to videos, etc. It’s also a cool way to trick your friends into thinking you’ve developed some Dynamo type powers!

The Goo.ey is applied with 3M adhesive and can be reused on a number of devices without leaving any residue whatsoever. Goo.ey’s website claims that it’s so thin that you can use it with most cases too so you’ve got nothing to worry about if you’re keen on variety when it comes to accessorising your device.

Usually at this part in my reviews I’d usually tell you the 1 thing that I don’t like about the product. With the Goo.ey that just isn’t possible – it does exactly what it says on the tin with no problems whatsoever, it just works.

Goo.ey comes in a variety of colours for the following devices;

  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • Samsung Note 2
  • Apple iPhone 4
  • Apple iPhone 5
  • Apple iPad
  • Apple iPad Mini

I love the Goo.ey and I’d recommend it to anyone – I’m sure people from all walks of life can find a use for this innovative product. You can order them from the Goo.ey website for between £14.99-17.99. Make sure you give them a cheeky follow on Twitter too!

I’m due to get the iPhone version of the Goo.ey later on this month so check back for my mobile comments!
